Hello,

I have 2 identical Rage 128 Ultra cards (Gigabyte GV-AG32S) and one of them has 3 missing capacitors on the back just behind the die; they were clearly there before 😀 The card seems to work just fine so I wonder if it's a real concern...I also don't have any specific equipment to measure them except a multimeter so I don't even know what they are. Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks

Possible that they are Vcc for the gpu and it can work without all of them connected but the remaining ones will be getting quite hot?

Ok time to give some feedback. A coworker has a small thermal camera so i took it home today and had some fun with it.

This is a K7 Thunderbird 750, AMD 751 Irongate chipset and a Matrox M400 after 10 minutes of 3DMark 2000:

And this is the same system with the Rage 128 Ultra, as you can see there is no particular hot spot on the 3 remaining capacitors and the system is still stable. So we can call it good enough 😀
