with full throttle, i run setup in dosbox, and the game seems fine, untill a random lockup (seemingly sound related) occurs. dosbox text mixes over the game are, and nothing can be inputed.

fate talkie tells me (using ij-fas.exe, the only executable available,) it must be run under win32.

i own copies of both games. i don't know what else to add. i've been capturing old sierra and lucasarts games to use as screensavers, and these are some of my favorites. i wish they'd be more compatible. too bad scummvm doesn't have capture capabilities like the flawless ones in dosbox.

thanks, creators of dosbox for all your hard work!!!!!

A few things:

- please be more specific about Full Throttle - with "dosbox text" I assume you mean DOS text - that indicates a serious crash. When that crash happens, you need to restart Dosbox and it should be gone. If it reoccurs, reinstall or try an older savegame.

- I've never ever heard of any Fate of Atlantis version that had an executable called "ij-fas.exe". If I google for it, nothing turns up either so that's a bit dubious. Not to mention that Fate was NEVER released for Windows - the win32 note indicates that yours needs Windows which is even more dubious. Where did you get this version because something tells me it's not an original?

thanks for the input. dosbox's latest version, 0.71 is being used. red_avatar, it is dos text, and it's not happening at the same times, it seems to be random. i have yet to save a game, i'm starging from scratch every time, and trying to record an .avi from the instant the title screen hits.

thank you for bringing the ij-fas.exe to my attention. i hadn't checked my folder because all files were shown in dosbox. now that you've brought the question of the files validity, i see it's a .exe file with a .rar icon. it's been a long time since i've played these games, i didn't realize i'd been using a downloaded version of fate.

as i said, i own both of these games. i'll try to install them from their cd's, but i have a feeling that the full throttle problem will persist. any other thoughts?????

sorry, if you're curios, scummvm runs fate talkie fine from that folder, which contains the previously mentioned irrelevant file, atlantis.000, atlantis.001, and monster.s03.
