Hey everyone, I need help, I've been trying to troubleshoot this on my own but nothing has worked.
I have a Logitech WingMan Extreme Digital 3D joystick, and up to some time ago, used to work perfectly fine on my Windows 98 PC connected to the gameport of my SB16. I haven't used the joystick in a while, but I noticed yesterday that it showed up as "Not connected" even when it was. I have the USB adapter for this joystick and it works perfectly fine on my modern PC, so the joystick is fine, but for some reason Windows fails to detect it. I also noticed that if I add another joystick to the game controller list like a "Logitech WingMan Extreme", it does shows up as "OK" when I connect the joystick to the gameport, but naturally, since that's not the joystick I'm using, it just gives me an error when I try to configure it.
The only thing I can think of that could have caused this is that recently tried messing around with older Logitech drivers to try to troubleshoot something else that I don't even remember anymore, I think it was about getting a steering wheel to work correctly. Now, no matter which driver I use, the joystick just doesn't get recognised anymore. Even the list of Logitech controllers stay in Windows after uninstalling the drivers completely.
I don't know what to do, I can't delete the Logitech devices from that list to potentially repopulate that list with reinstalling the driver, and going the "Add new hardware" route doesn't work either as there isn't any Logitech devices listed there. I could potentially just reinstall Windows 98 entirely, but I really don't want to go that route.
Any help would be welcome. Thanks!
