Finished VTM:Bloodlines. All in all, I think the initial two thirds of the game (minus the sewer section) are pretty good, but the quality drops rapidly during the last third, i.e. after you finish Chinatown and the Giovanni Mansion. Basically, every area from that point onward consists only of fighting, and most non-combat skills become completely pointless.
I say most because Obfuscate can be useful, in certain situations. When fully maxed out, it allows you to perform stealth takedowns without becoming visible. This is extremely helpful against human opponents, so the Leopold Society, the Kuei-Jin Temple and LaCroix Tower become a cakewalk. On the flip side, it doesn't work against vampire enemies, which makes the Sabbat hotel much harder than the aforementioned areas.
The boss fights weren't too hard except for the Kuei-Jin priestess. She has a ton of health, and unless you have some way of dealing aggravated damage, it's very difficult to take her down. Fortunately, there's an enchanted sword in the Sabbat hotel which can do this. With maxed melee skill and that sword, it wasn't too bad, even for a stealthy Malkavian. The final fight against the Sheriff was a cakewalk in comparison.
Ultimately, I sided with the Anarchs, and left LaCroix his coveted key. He sure enjoyed the fireworks. 😁 The Malkavian character had some fun moments, like talking to the TV announcer and having a particular response to the new "taxi driver". I can definitively recommend playing as one, as long as you've already beaten the game once.
