Yeah, I'd taken one without any considerations as well!

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

Bought these over the last month. All items are in great working condition.

GeForce3 Ti500 ($31) - Bought this one on a gamble as I suspected it was some sort of GeForce card. Seller only listed it by part number. Looks like the original owner installed a Zalman cooler made for a GeForce FX card?
Dell Latitude J650GT ($57)- Auction win. Great condition and the battery still holds a charge.
Dell Latitude H450GT ($75) - Missing a bunch of keyboard screws, but otherwise works. Some wear on the keyboard. Battery won't charge.
Asus P2B-S - Fully working board. ($71)

TBF Rage 128 cards are like the cockroaches of the retro hardware world, there are 10's of thousands of them out there selling for pennies, you cant give them away and in the end how many people would actually use one even if it was working ? (Does testing and benches count here? I'm thinking of actual use in a finished build)

Some retro hardware really is rubbish no matter how much you want it to not be, this is something all collectors need to come to terms with eventually. (on a side point, there are still rage cards being made from out of china which makes the retro ones even less useful)

Hey, they're at least a little appreciated in the vintage mac world. The abundance combined with Mac OS 7 drivers means they can actually be useful as a VGA out card on older PCI machines.

I know its bad of me . .but I do tend to forget the Mac world, my apologies 😜

You're forgiven. I'm the one who's fallen down that hole recently thanks to getting a clone machine a few months back.

Someone donated a bunch of stuff.

AGP, PCI, PCIe video cards.
Only three don't work so far, but I believe 2 are for Mac. One has some missing components. Just a few more let. One is missing some components too, FireGL 7350.

A huge amount of ram. Won't test as it may take a decade to finish.

SCSI, PCI and ISA. I lack a cable for Ultra. IDK which version though.

PC#1 Pentium 233 MMX - 98SE
PC#2 PIII-1Ghz - 98SE/W2K

That FireGL is a full fledged R520 part, running at full clock R520 clock speeds AND with 512MB more memory than the X1800XT.

If your having trouble identifying any post some pics, if I don't recognize them I'd be shocked. Some mac cards IIRC can be flashed back to PC.

Having issues with these parts, C139 and sot-23 K1N.
FireGL looks like an interesting card.

Black mark on yellow part is from permanent marker.

When it rains, it pours. I always wanted more AT/286 era systems and a horizontal AT case. Managed to save these from getting scrapped, cost me about 15 bucks each. Olivetti has a NIC I can use to add XT-IDE, and the noname one comes with a Hercules adapter which I wanted. Double plus good.

Seller also had a mid tower AT case with a black glass front panel door but it had a cookie cutter PCChips M537 + Pentium MMX build in it so I begrudgingly passed. Shipping is expensive these days 🙄

That's a nice Olivetti....

rasz_pl.... I'm still broke (comment to one of your posts.) time's pass I stay the same(broke-y).

I'm on a quest to find a Nforce2 MCP south bridge so I search around in local flee markets for donor boards. Came across a bag of ic's that had some interesting chips.

Ah the Cyrix ones are always nice to get 😀

On my side I finally found a decently priced Matrox Parhelia AGP which was listed with a wrong description 😀 Shipping is almost more expensive than the card itself.

Searching a Nexgen Nx586 with FPU, PM me if you have one. I have some Athlon MP systems and cookies.

Today's car boot sale highlights were this P5WD2-E Premium w/ 2GB Corsair XMS2 and a Pentium D 930 "Presler".

As well as this 7800GT 256MB, made by Leadtek.

And last but not least, a black Xbox 360, Falcon v1 revision mainboard, perfect case donor for my upcoming Jasper RGH unit.

Bravo. Scor mare , good for you bro 😁 . I wish that 7800GT would be AGP , I shure could use a second one. BTW can't you fix the XBOX ? ( I had 75% success rates in fixing 360s), such a shame to change it's inside's.

The 360 is working, but it's a Falcon v1 - these are absolutely unreliable (I just had to fix a RROD'd one in February), as opposed to the v2 ones (post-March 2008) that are close to Jasper in quality.

That, and I like the black casing more for a RGH system 😀 I do have a Falcon v2 to recase btw.

BTW multumesc, P5WD2-ul merge struna, cu 4GB RAM si 7800GT.

A quick repaste with MX6 should get you going. At least that's what I have to do on my RGH'd Jasper 360, after I swap it in the elite case, and I might be getting a 750 or 1TB drive for it.

I'm afraid to brake the back end of the case , they are fragile , and it's in good state. Will probably blow out with compressor and that's it for now. (I don't have the special opening tool for the back end locking-clips, and anything else leves a mark) at least its 2008-7-11 dated... or someting like that.

As tech repair at work, I see lot of consoles in 5 years, I will tell you:

No, no, you, need, absolutely must take these 360 consoles apart for several things, which you will need to buy the inexpensive special multi-pronged tool and the x-clamp removal tool.

Remove dust build up, which will be massive in these due to EMI shielding boxes has lot of crevices between EMI and plastics for big clumps of dust hiding there.
Repaste heatsinks after completely clean both chips and heatsinks.
Also to check for illegal X-clamp modifications. People were doing absolutely wrong doing this. When this mod was done which removes X-clamps along with original screw down pegs, and used four regular screws, instead the circuit board to clamp the chips to the heatsinks instead of X-clamps. Over time the PCB will relax due to creep due to resin glue is plastic and pressure on the chips is totally lost. Microsoft knew what they were doing with X-clamps design long ago, was very sound design and was used up to Xbox one X. The same design still used on Xbox Series X except for one difference; X-clamp is held in place with four screws. Xbox series S still used X-clamp.

The real reason for dying were their original TIM microsoft specifically used was thermal phase that only melts where heat is on first power cycle during assembly at microsoft's, over time, with thermal cycling that developed air bubbles and thermal particles pumped out out of the space. The TIM reharden as spacer *on the* APU and GPU packages holding heatsinks apart. This is going on still with all of their microsoft consoles including Xbox series S and X. The real fix was replace the TIM with high end thermal paste.

PS3 and PS4 (all) used regular paste instead, less issues but good idea to rebuild them by taking apart for a cleaning and use high end thermal paste.

Cheers,

Great Northern aka Canada.
