Hi,

Is there any differences on 2010 era power buttons vs 1998? I have Asus P2B-VM and installed it into my old 2010 or something Fractal Design Define R2, but it wont turn on with the power button. I removed the power button from the 1998 case and with it it turns on. Both power buttons have the standard 2-pin connector. I also tested the 2010 case power button with x570 Taichi on my other pc and it works fine.

A momentary contact switch can only fail if it has too much resistance, or infinite resistance. If you see zero ohms when measuring with a voltmeter with the switch depressed (circuit closed) then it should work. Do you see a difference in the resistance reading between the two switches with a voltmeter? Using a screwdriver to power on ATX boards when they are out of the case is commonly done.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
