I have an old Omnibook laptop with Windows 98 SE and I wanted to connect it to internet using an USB to Ethernet 10/100 adapter with a Realtek 8152B chip but I couldn't find any driver that works with it. The official drivers only go back as far as Windows XP 32 Bit and the others that I tried didn't work. Is there something I can do to make it work or I will have to buy something that is compatible with 98SE? Thanks

What model Omnibook ? The RTL8152B datasheet says 2013 so most likely never will work under Win98 https://datasheet.lcsc.com/szlcsc/Realtek-Sem … B-CG_C50656.pdf
Yes you should look for a different one.... and make sure to check OS compatibilty before buying....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

The only Win9x compatible USB ethernet I know of is the one that uses AX88772A.

If your laptop has a PCMCIA slot you might consider using such a card instead. Some PCMCIA ethernet uses RTL8139 which is well supported on old OSes.
