Hi there I am collecting xga-compatible software and drivers.
Would be nice if we can collect informations about this.

Thx!

The very early XGA 1.0 driverdisk offers windows 3.0 and windows 3.1 drivers.
The windows 3.0 driver works in 256colors, the hicolor-driver seems to be only 256colors...

my favorit dos imageviewer quickview 1.x does not support XGA, it requires "svgavesa" to be loaded (vesa-driver for xga)
but the colors are completly broken. Cshow 9.04 does support XGA but only XGA1 in 640x480 and 1024x768 and not 800x600 of XGA2.

The 8154/a Demo works in XGA mode but does require the loaded xga-driver which consumes lot's of low memory.

cshow2 does work but only 640x480 16/256/64k colors, 800x600 and 1024x768 do not work, they switch the TFT to false timings and ignore the monitor dsg file regardless if the xga-dos-driver is loaded. If I want to view images in 800x600 up to 64K colors or 1024x768 up to 256colors I have to use cshow for windows. Because the UI is not so nice and it's slow I will try other images viewer for windows 3.0 and 3.1. Would be interesting how the OS/2 2.1 and 3.0 software works with XGA. If have a feeling that on that OS XGA is much better supported...we will see...

I'll have a few image tools for Windows 3, some are free and 8086/286 compatible.
I'll see if I can find them..

PS: Didn't Windows 3.1 have XGA drivers built-in? If so, do they work?

The ancient PS/2 monitors aren't multisync, but support two resolutions.

640x480 60Hz (progressive)
1024x768 43,5 Hz (interlaced)

Both are supported/used by the 8514/A, too.

OS/2 2.1 offers XGA drivers but not XGA2. The XGA2 are only offered with WARP3.

If I choose XGA on OS2 2.1 I can't see an image on screen because it uses false values for my tft.
The Monitor-Files are copied to hard disk, where can I change the monitor from the false one to "monitor5555" which is VESA 14".
I had to go for "setvga" from boot floppy in order to see an image again. I browsed to folders and the files but I can't find the switch to change the monitor file.
