Hi!

I have glQuake running great on my Windows 98 machine but I wants my Reznors. Having the physical CD in the drive isn't an option because that sucks, although I've confirmed that using the physical disk does work.

I've burnt a BIN/CUE of the disk and am mounting it in Daemon Tools - when I open the CD player in Win98 the mounted disk is recognised as an audio CD and plays no problem. But I never get music in-game.

I can see the HDD flashing as the game plays, then stop if I turn off CD audio in the game settings (it's just on/off in glQuake), so I'm confident that the game is streaming music off the mounted image; I just can't hear it.

There exists 1 audio option in Daemon Tools (analog music on/off), and I've tried both options.

I've confirmed that the relevant emulated drive letter is selected as the default CD drive under multimedia settings, and I've made sure that the emulated drive letter is first in the CD-ROM drive list.

I've checked my mixer settings, CD audio is not muted and has a volume set correctly.

Anyone have this working in Win98?

Actually I worked this out - the answer was on this very forum of course. I got an idea thanks for this old post: Re: Do you play games off of their CDs?

I was using DX7, but installing DX9c did the trick. Now I have music playing in-game from a DT mounted bin/cue. I suspect that the order of the drives is important too, i.e. having the physical drive come after the DT drives.

Good old Phil - long gone but still helping people out 👍
