8. i get this quiet sort of static accompanied by all the audio using sound blaster in the setup for toonstruck(changing the settings about seems to do nothing) gravis ultrasound seems to not have the issue but the sound is choppy on it.. i'm not the only one who has this sound issue qbix has also seen it on his end

i think the above pretty much describes my problem in full i think i've also seen this issue in the game daggerfall on linux
here is a 7zipped up copy of a few of the things from the game install so you can see the sample sound output in the setup(i've removed the core game data and there is a lot on the cd)
just run the setup.exe file and choose sound blaster and listen to the sample audio for some noise in it(it is rather quiet so turn up your speakers or put some earphones on or something) and compare it with playing the test.wav file in windows/linux/whatever(NOT in dosbox or any other kind of emulation) and you can hear a visible difference in the audio of it
