Don't know where to buy these nowadays. I bought mine from some german distributor, chieftec iirc.

Thank you. Unfortunately it has the same depth like most of the cases. More or less it's the depth of the mainboard + depth of an optical drive. The Chenbro case uses a slim drive that is mounted partially above the board, making the case 10 cm shorter. But thank you for the photos and the idea with POS terminals! I do some more research with those in mind.

They look nice indeed, but all seem to support full size PCI slots. For this project I'm looking for ones with low profile slot and SFF PSUs.

Mini-itx case might be more called for?

I have an old e-machines mini-itx desktop case. Has an 80W psu, and a single 5.25" bay, mounted vertically behind a plastic door.

It's barely deep enough for a half-height expansion card.
(Mine is white, but basically this.)

It is mini-itx form factor, and has provision for 2 half-height cards, and one (vertically mounted) 5.25" drive. (3.5" hdd rack inside). There are aftermarket psus in this form factor.

For aftermarket, mini-itx gets you cases like this one.

Bear in mind that mini-itx boards have smaller area footprints as well, and that a micro atx board might not physically fit.

Caveat emptor, do research before purchase, and all that.

It has to support 4 slots, so a mini ITX case won't work. And both cases are even deeper than the Chenbro mATX 😀
I think it can't get any smaller than that one unless without any drive bay. But it seems that there are no such cases with low profile slots optimized for volume/size

For everybody interested in a similar case, here's the result of my search so far.
Small recap: I'm looking for a small case that supports MicroATX-boards with 4 expansion slots but for low-profile cards. One important point is that the case shall be less deep than those that are easy to find but doesn't need to have any drive bay. Most cases are around 400 mm deep because they have room for a full size 5.25" drive.

The InWin-series has a depth of 402mm.
The Antec VSK2000 was also suggested by Thermalwrong and with 356mm it's deeper than I wanted. But it supoprts full size drives so I will also add it to the list,

While looking at cases I came across the CiT S8, which has a couple of different versions. Dimensions are about 28x32 cm, and it's not ugly.

Hmm, that CiT S8 with the CD-ROM fitting seems like it'd be a good fit for my MS-6168-v2 build that I'm hoping to do soon. Found this picture for motherboard size constraints, the MS6168 is a fair bit smaller than that:
