Thanks! The card works fine, but wow... loud fan under load; quiet when idle, though. The cheap price makes up for the dumb price I paid for an Asrock 775Dual-VSTA on the way as I wanted to see how much better it might perform with an E7600 versus a 4800+

They installed manually but not with any ATI package, and I was unable to view any graphics card settings. I found a blurb on a Tom's hardware review mentioning they had to use the manufacturer drivers, so I've downloaded those (and a BIOS update) and will also test this card again with the 775Dual-VSTA.

I had one of those, and the exchange I had with Radeon's tech support still angers me. I had a similar experience with the drivers even though I went through their site and correctly chose the card, the OS, that it was AGP, and the drivers wouldn't install. I found some on the site of another manufacturer of an HD 4650 AGP, and they worked without having to manually install by way of Device Manager.
A couple of years went by, and I was then going to set my mother up with this card in a 939 system running Windows 7. I was sure that they would have sorted this out by now, but nope, and I again found a set that worked from card maker's site. I then emailed Radeon, telling them that the driver package they have on their site for the AGP version of the HD 4650 did not work properly. I received a reply telling me that it is an older card, and the newer driver pack will not work. I responded saying I know the latest drivers won't work, but the ones you have on your site that are specifically for the AGP version of this card didn't work properly, but the response I received was boilerplate nonsense, and I gave up. I haven't purchased a new Radeon video card since then.
After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
That isn't just for the 4650 - I had similar issues with a AGP 3450 on XP.

-Foxconm M396F. in good state. the battery was already starting to leak

-a Socket 5 board that I have not yet identified
-Olivetti PC1050. the Olivetti M24 motheboard. I have to find the video and expansion cards. and a missing switch. the battery was already starting to leak

The damage to some cards is due to bumps and scratches. everything has been deep cleaned. So far I have only tried the Paradise Bali 2 which is OK.
Everything cost me 0 (zero), only two long walks. and everything will cost me zero, because I will take material to recycle, it will be an exchange.

I picked up a pair of XFX Silent 7950 GTs for 50 bucks shipped, I thought that was a pretty nice deal, they dont come along very often but its great when a good deal comes along, especially on eBay.

That is a great deal, even more so if you have the 610m(s). I bought just one of the 570m version in the box and that cost me $45 shipped. Which version is yours; the 550, the 570, or the 610?
Not so lucky as they are both the 550m versions. These do however run at 570 out of the box due to being OC versions.
The 610m versions of this card are rather hard to find and people who do list them know they are so they tend to go for 100 USD a pop, which is too much for a 7950GT.

No, it IS a mess.
It just works on my Ubuntu, but I didn't even register that PulseAudio was replaced by PipeWire, and I'm like "oh, here we go again..."
It's been solid so far, but I already encountered weird bugs on and off...
Another mess is bluetooth support. Having to dig out the terminal everytime I want to use my bluetooth mouse is NOT a good user experience.
In Linux's defense, Bluetooth is a mess on every OS I used it on.

Picked up this Pentium beige box with a cute little CRT in my local flea market:
No RAM, but it has a Pentium 166 (maybe mxx) installed, mainboard features Intel 430VX Chipset and there is a drilled through Hard Drive:
Not too bad for 15Eur I think.

I picked up this Creative Nomad Jukebox . It came complete in the box. I love that it had Creative rechargeable batteries in it. I put new batteries in it though.
I also found an NEC S/33 Laptop which i didnt take pics of. I dont have a power cable for it so I cant test it yet....
Received those things lately:
-a thin client from Nexterm, model SV-II with a Via Eden 500MHz cpu,
- ide/sata to usb/firewire adapter that works,
-cardbus video capture card with Win2000 drivers, it got broken a bit during shipping,
-a pair of Roland/Edirol MA-1EX usb speakers, I've been looking for those for a while,
and finally a firewire flash drive, it comes with a little 6pin firewire dock and a 4 pin adapter with a usb power cable.
