When I try to change my file properties in a VDMS shortcut I'll get this error message everytime!
My OS is Windows 2000 Pro. I updated my VDMS as written in this forum. I tried to search for other threads with my problem but I haven't found anything like this.

You installed VDMSound 2.04 before you installed the GUI Launchpad, right?

Paste the words Debug Assertion Failed into the quick search box at the top of the page.
Yes, I did so. But trying it the other way around hadn't helped me anyway...
I typed these words in the quick search box before but the posts there didn't help me...

I mean, I installed VDMS first and then the LaunchPad ---> Error-Message appears.
Then I installed LaunchPad first and AFTER THAT VDMS ----> Error-Message appears.
Yes, I read those two threads but THEY DIDN'T HELP ME!!
I rebooted dozens of times but with no results!

Ok, that is what made no sense to me. The GUI is for VDMSound, it can't do anything without VDMSound, so it doesn't make sense to install it first.

When you open a Windows Explorer window, and place:
%VDMSPath%
in the address bar, does it take you where VDMSound was installed and is DOSDRV.EXE in there?

I did it because you asked me what I installed first. I uninstalled VDMSound and reinstalled it (LaunchPad first). I thought that this might be the reason.

Not really, it takes me miles away: To a chinese website. But the same happens when I type in %SystemRoot% or something like that.

My point was that you should not install a GUI for a program, before you actually install the main program. That is almost universally true.

Well THAT is definitely not right. Might need to check in with Vlad on this. This is starting to sound like a pretty nasty OS problem.

It could be some stupid non-English WindowsOS problem. I know there was one with the Japanese version of WinXP in that 16-bit Japanese DOS programs would lock stuff up. Not at all related outside of them both being non-English versions, but, well, you know. Don't you?
