Hey everybody! I have a Dell Optiplex GX150 with Windows 98 SE and a Sound Blaster CT4780 card. I purchased it several years ago for older Windows and DOS gaming but was finally able to have everything working a few weeks ago.
Using the forums and guides here, I have succeeded in installing drivers for Sound Blaster for both Windows 98 and DOS. My Sound Blaster works great in Windows 98 and also when I start up in DOS (version 7.1 I believe). The Windows and pure DOS games I play have working sound and also GamePort controls.
However, I have not been able to get DOS games being played in the Windows 98 environment to recognize my SB card. This happens whether I double click on the EXE file for that game or attempt to run it from the Command Prompt. Those games work fine when I start my computer in DOS prompting, just not when I restart into Windows 98. Have I missed a step or is it something that just doesn't work with Windows 98's DOS emulation? Thank you!
