They were quite conservative. The boards were most probably designed by quite a small team, and those proud of their work could have left their mark there. Amiga team had their signatures on the case like artists.

And proud they are;

i386 16 ⇒ i486 DX4 100 ⇒ Pentium MMX 200 ⇒ Athlon Orion 700 | TB 1000 ⇒ AthlonXP 1700+ ⇒ Opteron 165 ⇒ Dual Opteron 856

And sometimes they wanted to make a point...

Also the Number Nine PCB's should be mentioned... too many of them had absolutely awesome looking PCB's...

Was going through my scrap boards and found this on a HDD board.

That's Miniscribe or Maxtor board. Miniscribe was first one to introduce 1" height 20 and 40MB IDE soon after, bought out by Maxtor just this to start their line off.

Great Northern aka Canada.

Compaq really enjoyed PCB Art.
Here is a Map of Arizona with a flag pointing at presumingly Tucson.

Here is another Map where the Flag is somewhere below Phoenix.

Somewhere between my stuff I do have a nice Compaq board showing Wile E. Coyote. Can't take a pic now, everything is stacked tight (moving to another home)

Maybe somebody recognise it and post a pic?

Stuck at 10MHz...

AMD Solo 2 motherboard (engineering sample for Athlon 64) has two interesting prints: a hammer (codename for the architecture) and some music notes that represent the Intel-jingle.

And the rest of us would be carousing the aisles, stuffing baloney.
