Hi

I recently got this fujtisu D1520 mobo. It posts but post card shows no codes being executed. I also spotted a missing component, which i suspect its the cause (besides that big scratch). Can anyone help my identify this missing component in red circle?

Looks like a ceramic capacitor.

seems to be attached to pins 63 GP36/nKBDRST and 65 VCC

edit, same chip on https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/fujitsu-siemens-d1381 better photo shows a capacitor.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

looks like cap, while datasheet calls for resistor in some cases:
>Note 9: External pullups must be placed on the nKBDRST and A20M pins. These pins are GPIOs that are inputs
after an initial power-up (VTR POR). If the nKBDRST and A20M functions are to be used, the system must
ensure that these pins are high. See Section “Pins That Require External Pullup Resistor”

After replacing that missing part with an cap, still no post codes executed. Even after repairing the damaged trace its still not posting. Before diving deeper into repair, does anybody know where the pc speaker header is located? I couldn't find t in the manual
EDIT: since i didn't wanna open a new thread i edited the title of this post to be more correct.

Isn't there an onboard speaker besides the last pci slot ?

If there is a seperate header for the speaker, my guess would be it's part of the Front panel connector, but yeah, there's no layout/pinout given for that.

Theres no onboard speaker. On front panel connector, theres everything except the speaker pins.

Odd, all the photos on the internet show a speaker right behind the CMR? slot . the round black thing.

edit: Just had a look at the manual for the D1520, and it appears that the pinout is mostly there. aside from a few pins.

I'd think the group of four pins that isn't marked could be for the speaker.

Decided to get back to reparing this mobo. Under further inspection i noticed that the VRM is getting really hot. Measuring without CPU, on mosfet 1 and 4 (look at the attached picture) I get around 11m ohms on gate to ground, 61 ohms on source to ground, 10m ohm on drain to ground. For mosfets 2, 3, 5, 6 i get 61 ohms on drain to ground, 14m ohms on gate to ground, 0,1 ohms on source to ground. Also saw an cracked solder joint form a coil next to 4 pin CPU power connector. Fixed it but same behavior. Also attaching a picture of the damaged NB. Even if the northbridge is chiped, it should at least do something, right? The POST card not showing any codes might be related to an unsupported BIOS. Had it happen on some boards. Any ideas?
