Purchased a little while ago, a batch of three motherboards, two socket 370 and a 423, just a few days ago I had bought another 423, but this one has RDRAM instead of SDRAM, and that's fine for me, I wanted a second 423 with RDRAM, and I keep four modules aside for a total of 512 MB (4X 128).
The 370s on the other hand have VIA chipsets, no Tualatin support, only Coppermine, but it's still good.
I hope they arrive soon, in the meantime I'll start preparing, RAM and other things, I don't have the heatsink with fan for 423, I'll see if I can adapt one, or if I can find a second-hand one.

Thats an interposer, likely to throw it onto a board that doesnt support that CPU, if you are just putting it onto a 5v board then it wont need that interposer.

Can you separate the two .. would be cool to see pics of that interposer, would be able to tell what its for.

That sounds backwards to me, should be to support it on a 5V only board.

I have some serial ones I guess... yours looks familiar to me. I might have one too.

A wondrously and evenly yellowed AOpen/Acer AT case (incl. the cdrom!), ca. 1996 I figure. A little too new for it, but I'll be putting a 486 of some sort in it.

I am crossing my fingers for you, but somewhere around then Acer went to weird not quite standard stuff.

Huh, you're not wrong... looks like the slots for the plastic spacers are slightly non-standard. Thankfully, there are also threaded holes for metal standoffs, so looks like I might have dodged a bullet:

Now I wonder how SRAM speed corelates with cpu speed. I.e: do you need 10/12/15ns cache in order to run a 133MHz CPU perfectly stable, or does 25ns suffice as well?

Yeah, the board came with that odd assortment of cache memory. I haven’t run it up at all other than to verify that it posts. Honestly, if it’s stable I’ll probably leave it as is. I’m planning just a classic DX2/66 + 16 megs ram and not looking to build a perfectly optimized speed demon.

Highscreen Kompakt III with an AMD 386SX-33 for not too much. Fortunately only discolored by the sun, not tar or nicotine.
