I'd like to add VFX1 emulation to DOSBox.
The VFX1 was the ancient Virtual Reality helmet that worked with many DOS games. It provided headtracking and stereoscopic 3D, and a cyberpuck. It worked via an ISA card called the VIP, which read the screen contents via the VESA Feature Connector on your graphics card (had to be 256 colours for that to work), and converted it to a 3D image for the two screens in the helmet. It also handled the tracking and cyberpuck input.
As far as I can tell, programs talk to the card directly via a handful of ports to control the stereo graphics features, and use Interrupt 33H (which the vfx1 driver has patched) for the head tracking and cyberpuck.
Does anyone have any of the patches for enabling VFX-1 support in games? Or any idea how I could get VFX-1 games? I'm prepared to pay for them. I also need the VFX-1 SDK.
Also does anyone have any advice?
