Two major problems here:

1) You don't give us any information on your system. No mention of the O.S. (Win9x, Win2000, WinXP, etc...), processor, memory, etc...

Without access to your machine, this kind of info is all we have to troubleshoot problems. You also didn't mention if you only installed the basic VDMSound v2.04, or if you also installed the GUI Launchpad, and "Update 1".

the command regsvr32 is wrong or could not be found !

2) Since REGSVR32 is part of the Windows O.S. (in the System or the System32 directory), your PC claiming it doesn't exist makes it far more likely that you have an OS-related problem.

Just to be sure, search your PC for REGSVR32 (under "Advanced Options", choose "Search System folders" and "Search hidden files and folders") to make sure it's there.

I do believe I've found the problem. From Vlad's VDMSound page, under Download, directly under the link to download the GUI LaunchPad are these words:
** IMPORTANT **
Launchpad needs VDMSound 2.0.4 to be installed on your system since it is an add-on, not a replacement for VDMSound!

Uninstall the GUI Launchpad, then start installation from scratch:
Download VDMSound v2.04 from Vlad's page at http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/dow … load/index.html

There's a guide here:
showthread.php?threadid=1226

You can save some time by downloading the vdms_update.zip from that thread and following the instructions inside the zip file.

(NOTE: VDMSound v2.04 is the only critical part to install, but you really need to install the others)

newbie, if you go Start > Run... and type in "REGSVR32" you should get a pop-up window with some attributes. If you don't get that, your OS is probably hosed and you should probably reinstall. Be positive that you're running as a superuser/administrator. If you aren't you're going to have a problem.

Yes, it’s my fault.

*gack* You went straight to the next title with a PopF issue. I can't believe there are still people who don't know about this.

Go to ...
http://doomworld.com/ports/windows.shtml
...and choose a port.

My favorite is JDOOM.
