I'm certain Aquanox was more fillrate hungry than pushing vectors. PowerVR avoids overdraw and will only show a performance edge in poorly optimized games that are a little full of themselves (such as Aquanox). There's also no hardware depth buffer on the Kyro so that's less reading to do (and some effects, like lens flares/coronas will go missing on a few games if they rely on a pixel read)
Also 2001 results would long predate their EnTNL driver.
