I'm looking for the software for my old eprom programmer V50B or named PCB50B to read a Bios chip, I downloaded the one from http://minuszerodegrees.net/software/Willem/W … B50B_V98D12.iso but Kaspersky says it has a trojan "VHO:packed.Win32.convagent.gen" , Ive got either Windows 98se or XP to use it on, thanks all.

I found my cd I got with the programmer and it says the same thing from kaspersky about two files: "setup_98D11.exe" and "setup_98D9.exe" why would this be I think the cd is an older version than the ISO download

Almost certainly a false positive from your antivirus. It is becoming an increasingly common problem for old software to get flagged as a virus. Especially software that directly accesses hardware, or uses programming tricks like self modifying code.

In this case it looks like Kaspersky doesn't like that the setup program used executable compression

4 of 74 scanners at Virustotal say a trojan, 70 say nothing found. I say false positive too. Got the files off the ISO at minus zero....
setup_98D11.exe = https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/586232ca7 … fc584?nocache=1
setup_98D9.exe = https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/8aa51e048 … 970de?nocache=1

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
