The BIOS is probably just misreporting the speed. You should use a software utility to check the actual speed.
It's highly possible that there is a BIOS update that will identify the CPU correctly.

I have flashed 3.03 BIOS to one empty 27C512 (i hope this is valid eprom chip for this bios file), and only difference is that now it is recognized as DX4-s 120MHz (not DX2-s like before), but after POST, it won't load DOS, screen stays black and after few seconds monitor went to "not optimum mode"....

On the board there is marking (under BIOS chip) 27010, the socket has 28 pins (4 pins are extra, beside the socket), but the 27010 is 32 pin chip??? Should i desolder old socket, put 32pin socket, and flash this bios on 27010 eprom?

It works when i remove jumper 5-6 from JP24, but only on 100MHz... as soon as i put that jumper back, no picture after POST???

I agree with Anonimous Coward that this is a BIOS issue.

Two years ago I replied on you request for a BIOS for the similar E-2 revision of this board.
I uploaded the latest v3.06 BIOS with full Am5x86-133 support then.

I’m sure this BIOS version will work on your 0038S E-2A revision board as well. Just try it. 😉

The BIOS on this board is 64KB so the 27C512 EPROM is perfect. The extra 4 pins are a provision for a 27C010 EPROM to allow the use of a 128KB BIOS. But you don’t need it because all BIOS versions for this board are 64KB.

Now i have my own programmer, so this will be over soon 😀
Will let You know when i flash this chip.... need to UV erase it first

You both were right, with 3.06 BIOS everything is working perfect - CPU shown as P75 -133MHz 😀
