Ok, first off; I am sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place or if this has already been answered. I am new to these forums and to the program.

Anyway, I just got "Sam and Max" off a friend.
Copied it to C:/Sam and I mounted it to S.
Then I open Sam.exe which comes up with Soundcard settings
I choose SoundBlaster, with Port: 220 Irq:7 Dma:1.
The tests work in the settings thing.
I then go to "Leave this silly program"
And type Y to Do you want to save.
It quickly flashes:

Assertion failed: infile != NULL, file init.c, line 165
'
Copyright (c) Rational Systems, Inc, 1990-1993

at the top of the settings menu and then goes in game
the game has no sound, and I can't enable it in in-game options.
and If I go back to soundcard settings it says setting "Soundcard: None" again.

Sorry this post is so long, I just tried to include as much information as I could, also again sorry if this is in the wrong section or if it has been answered.

Edit: OOPS sorry I thought I put this in "DOSBox Games/Apps" please move if nessisary

Well anyway, it wouldn't make a difference would it, and it is simple because its S for sam 😜
Anyway do you have any idea why it wont save my sound config?

No. 1) Because you refuse to follow the KISS principle.
2) Because I don't think you have a legitimate license for the game.

He gave me the full game on PC CD-ROM.
I copied it to my computer because I thought that it could have been trying to save the config to the disc or something.
So I think I do have a legitimate license for it.
And how is S for Sam not simple?

Anyway seriously, do you have any ideas?

Right before you posted that, I mounted it as C: and it worked...
You don't need to install the game...
Anyway why would it make a difference what letter it is?
