The objective is that W95 doesn't see W98 partition and vice versa, but that both see the third Data partition present on the disk. I tryed with xfdisk as I readed here, but i have an issue, when w95 starts... it can see w98 partition, and that is an issue, so I enter the xfdisk program again and hide the w98 partition, seems to be solved, but then, if I enter to w98 in the boot selector, w98 can see the w95 partition!, and if I solve it hidding it, when I select w95 in the boot selector, then the w98 is visible again!

That is a huge problem. How can I make the other windows partitions hidden for each SO but the data visible for both?

Can't be done with xfdisk? how then?

I am pretty sure that you can do auto hiding of partitions with Smart BootManager when I was using it 20 years ago. As for a common partition visible to both, it's easy--make a FAT16 partition.

Microsofts TweakUI can hide a partition from Windows 9x but you will still be able to see it from a command prompt. It uses similar reg edit process as hiding partitions or drives from Win7 iirc..
Also you can use Gdisk but not recommended due to ability to screw up things easily 😀

It was my understanding that SBM could do that. If you make a separate data partition it won't be touched.

well, xfdisk is hidding it if I enable autohide. Autohide means that every partition that is not the active partition is hidden

You can make profiles in Xosl for each bootable partition with different hiding selections.

Grub can do it. Not easy to setup and configure but possible for sure.

Boot Magic has this feature. You can set a partition to be visible to certain other OS partitions.
