Rebuilt my K6-II+ build as follows:

Case: CSX-917 (AT, manufactured by Deer/JNC)
PSU: rebuilt ASTI LC-200C 200W
Mobo: SYE-Luckytech P5MVP3 rev1.3
ODD: Samsung SH-S182D DVDRW
LAN: RTL8139D
Offboard ATA100: Promise Ultra100 TX2 + 160GB WD Caviar SE
Onboard ATA: Quantum Fireball lct20 20.4GB
GPU: MSI Geforce 2 Pro 64MB
RAM: 2x128MB PC-133 SDR
USB: VIA PCI USB card (makes sense since I run a VIA MVP3 chipset...)
Audio: Yamaha YMF-719 OPL3-SAx ISA soundcard
OS: leftover barebones 98SE from a dead K6BV3+/66, will have to reinstall anyways, as I have to wipe the 160GB clean to prepare it as game/driver/OS repository.

My refrigerator is 14 years old and has the freezer on top; I think that qualifies it as retro.

Anyhow, the bottle holder in the door broke off, and upon quick inspection - the hook on the holder was fine - it was the catch on the door that snapped.
So I just drilled two holes on the inside of the door's lip, and permanently attached the holder with screws. Worked great.

My refrigerator is 2.5 years old and has the freezer on top. I had to buy the ice maker separately.

My ASUS P5NT WS didn't POST with with a QX6850 Intel Core 2 Extreme and thought it was the mobo. After buying a replacement that has a hot USB and shuts down prior full boot I just threw the CPU in the first board and it booted!
This is supposed to be a supported CPU. I am going to buy another one and see if it was the just the one chip.

Working on getting networking setup for my WFW 3.11 virtual PC in 86Box. More straightforward that I expected, really. I just needed to install the TCP/IP stack separately as it's not built into the OS. In the off chance anyone else needs to get their 3.11 system configured for a network, any E2000-Compatible network card seems like a reliable choice, as Windows appears to have drivers built-in.

There was an XT with a bit more juice and of course much faster higher numbered 2x00s, but yeah I've got three 9600s to pick from

I bought:

• 10 16GB mSata devices for $20
• 5 sata to mata adapters for $15
• $1 for the 3d printout

So this device was $6

I'm hoping to see warehouses of NOS floppy disks hit the Japanese market soon.

This news has been widely discussed in my local tech communities; also learned that Japanese send up to 4 million telegrams annually, often in elaborate decorations for special and important occasions like weddings, childbirths, graduations, retirements, funerals, business inaugurations, etc.

Telegrams make sense, floppies were outdated IMHO.
Japan has some very fine traditions.

I've been putting off tinkering with my slot 1 stuff because I didn't have a retention bracket for my motherboard. I made this slotket bracket over the past few days. Currently working on a bracket for a standard slot 1 CPU.

Inspired by this Guide: Installing Windows 9x and DOS drivers on Audigy cards (version 3.1), I decided to dig up my original Audigy 2 ZS I bought back in days for WinXP.
Installed it without hitch in Win98. DOS was more challenging because it took some time to figure out that next to usual BALSTER variable CTSYN needs to be set up as well.
And then I realized that card does not have SPIDIF coax output. I wonder if extension header have 2 pins fox coax out?
Even more no standard TOSLINK jack. Only 3.5mm mini-TOSLINK. I almost forgot that this kind of physical connection existed. Fortunately cables/adapters are cheap. So I ordered one...

I had facepalm moment today. My mini-TOSLINK cable arrived and it's not working. Of course it's not working since card has standard COAX output. I just need to use 3.5mm to RCA adapter. Somehow I convinced myself that it's mini-TOSLINK. Should have looked inside jack to check if red light is visible.

Finished an 128MB RAM mod on one of my Original Xboxes, a v1.1 with Xecuter 2 Lite modchip.

I singlehandedly experienced joy, pain and horror in the span of three hours. Pain peko.

Fortunately it works and the whole 128MB gets detected thanks to Cerbios 2.3.2.
