HI All

I've tried getting my Mega PC working with a Sega CD 2, I made up a straight through cable with an edge connector and a socket. Plugged them together, pressed in the cartridge detect switch on the Mega PC and no joy nothing happened. Then I buzzed out all the connections to make sure it was good, and it was. After a long internet search I was reading this website https://gbx.ru/?showtopic=125529 translated via Chrome which implied you swap the top and bottom rows of pins so I tried this. Rewiring the cable, buzz out the pins still no joy.

I wonder has anyone on here got this working, would you be able to share the cable setup required. There seems to be very little information on this available on the internet that I can find.

Thanks

Should add I have no way to test the sega cd 2 as I don't have a mega drive to hand, this is the obvious next step, but thought I'd ask in case I was just off with the cable.

The Amstrad megadrive card is so badly designed that even the cd-emulation cartridges have problems with it. So it is no wonder that the real deal will not work - after all the promised adapter was never released, perhaps it was too unstable
Best you can do is the mega-sd cart, found it more stable that the mega everdrive pro when used with the mega pc

Thanks, it's more about the fun of having the hardware working rather than being able to play the games. I did wonder if the Amstrad one was ever released as I've never seen one. Any idea of the cable arrangement even if it's likely to be unstable?

Most likely edge connector on one end, shielded IDC cable pair in the middle and PCB edge on other end going to the MegaCD.
