Hello, this game
Amazon: Guardians of Eden
lets you to set the MIDI to FM or OPL.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO???
This is in the setup:

Hint
(0) No hints
(1) Level 1 (subtle)
(2) Level 1 & 2 (more detailed)
(3) Level 1, 2 & 3 (very detailed)

MIDI
(0) No music
(1) AdLib
(2) Roland MT32
(3) ProAudio Spectrum (FM)
(4) ProAudio Spectrum (OPL)
(5) PC Speaker
(6) Sound Blaster
(7) Sound Blaster Pro (FM)
(8) Sound Blaster Pro (OPL)

Digital sound effects...
(0) No sound
(1) RealSound (PC Speaker)
(2) AdLib
(3) IMB PS/2 Speech
(4) Sound Blaster
(5) Sound Blaster Pro

Delete the am.cfg file to change sound (and hint) settings.
The cfg file contains something like this:
3 5 2 7 8 1

and this means
full hint; Sound Blaster Pro; port 220; irq 7; Sound Blaster Pro (OPL); DMA 1

BUT WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FM and the OPL MIDI???
I did not hear any difference.

FM usually means OPL2 and OPL usually means OPL3.

This to distinguish between cards from Creative that had models with OPL2 and others with OPL3. I the case Creative with the Sound Blaster Pro 1 which had a couple of OPL2 and Sound Blaster Pro2/16 with OPL3.

MediaVision had the classic PAS with dual OPL2 and PAS Plus/16 with OPL3
