I had a Creative Voodoo 2 that I upgraded from 8MB to 12GM of memory that was working perfectly by itself. I Am using the Fastvoodoo 4.6 drivers with some modified glide2x.dll files and glide3x.dll files that I have no idea where I got them that seem to be needed with my ATI graphics card or games don't load. I have to overwrite the files in the Windows System folder on 98se.

I recently purchased a lot of graphics cards from Ebay untested that included a pair of Diamond Voodoo 2 cards 12MB. It looks like one of these cards were good and one may have bad video memory after my testing. I figured I couldn't go wrong for $200 as long as one of these cards were good since I can use the mismatched driver with my Creative card. ALso the diamond card looks almost exactly the same as my creative one.

The diamond card definitely worked in SLI with the other broken one but shows graphical glitches which lead me to beleve it was vram. I isolated the bad Diamond card but validated games load with SLI using both of them.

The issue I have now is when I place the good Diamond and Creative cards in SLI using fast voodoo drivers games won't load. I'm thinking this may be because those ATI patched dll files I need to overwrite in the Windows \system folder after installing the Fastvoodoo driver to support my radeon card may be breaking the mismatched support? Is there another set of dll files I can use with my ATI card that work. If I disable SLI in the fastvoodoo drivers games work. The driver is definitely detecting I have SLI. It's not a slot problem since SLI worked with the bad Diamond card.

I still got a good deal because the pair of cards came with 5 other various riva 120 cards for $200. I just don't want to buy something else if I don't have to buy and sell stuff if I don't have to.

I got this working. What you want is the Koolsmoky Voodoo2(TM) Based 3D Accelerators Driver TEST Kit for Win2K/XP. Be careful because many sites list the one for the Voodoo Banshee through Voodoo 5 as being for Voodoo 2. It's a different driver package. This is the one you will get on 3dfxzone.it as well if you use the Voodoo 2 navigator from the menu. Open the Readme and you will see Voodoo 2 isn't mentioned. It's the completely wrong driver and games won't give you the glide option when configuring graphics settings. The one you want will have a readme files talking about Voodoo 2 specifically and nothing else. Here is a URL to the one you want https://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/news/3dfx/koolsmo … river_test_kit/ This driver is also currently not present in the 3dfx driver section of VOGONS. Might want to add it.

You need to install the fastvoodoo 4.6 or reference drivers first on Windows 98 or earlier. This will create the base registry folders. Then you copy the glide2x and glide3x dll files into Windows\System

You also need to ADD a string to registry if you want to use mismatched cards to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/3dfX Interactive/Voodoo 2/Glide You should see the correct folder and only need to add the string below if the base driver of your choice is installed correctly.

Add new string
SSTV2_MISMATCHED_SLI

Set the Value of the string you added to
1
