The cursor isnt only an annoyance, its a very unpopular "feature" of the site, every year there is someone complaining about it.

I just moved on from it but personally, if there is a way to get rid of it, I am listening. I am considering installing Safari CSS Extensions just to put a rule to get rid of the custom cursor.

Folks, it's a mouse cursor, get over it.

You probably don't use high-dpi screen with scaling. It shows, isn't it embarrassing?

(Your post contributes *nothing* to the discussion. Why you wasted your's and everyone else's time?)

All your posts contributes is an attempt to insult me and a grammatical error or two. I don't think this accomplished what you wanted it to.

It's a stupid cursor change that, quite honestly, I hadn't noticed until people complained about in here. Who's wasting more time here at this point?

It's indeed a cursor change but an unwanted one. As I have a high res screen I increased my default mouse cursor size in Windows to make sure I can see it. What happens on this forum is that the mouse cursor gets very small so almost undetectable in my case. Eye sight is not improving unfortunately as you get older. So maybe not relevant for you but it would be nice if you (and also the forum admins) also think about other people's needs.

Found a weird "off by one" error on some quoted posts. Post quoted was at bottom of previous page, the link in the quote takes you to top of following page. I don't know if this is a temporary or one off thing due to an intervening post being deleted or something, or whether it is some other strangeness. This is the post which does it for me Re: Bought these (retro) hardware today (Which I don't know if takes you to the right post, but it was the one at 08:20 my time by eesz24

Another strange thing. I was trying to search the brand of peripherals "Laing" and the search kept treating the ing as an unnecessary suffix and showing results for "La"

A new for me annoying problem. If I click on "New Posts" it shows the new posts, but after reading a few of them, clicking to the next page says nothing found.

Or, if I went to page 3 of 3, then clicked on the browsers "back" button, suddenly there's nothing there. It seems to give less than a minute to read everything i want to read.

I think I encountered a similar one
Re: Bought these (retro) hardware today
links to Re: Bought these (retro) hardware today
which is on the previous page, checking the post on the previous page gives that same link, 1296944, which when clicked goes to the first one I mentioned. 😀

This started happening since the last forum upgrade: Re: Board updated. New problems? Complain here!

Is there a way to remove a thread from the "your posts" page ?

I have accidentally made a post in a thread by someone who I basically consider a troll, who keeps on posting essentially meaningless things in that thread, making in rising to the top in the "your posts" page, polluting that otherwise very place.

Or maybe a way to mute/ignore a thread? Muting the user is not enough if he uses the forum as his personal notebook, the thread is constantly bumped. I mean just look at this

I don't know if it's possible with the current forum software, but in the good old days, some forums had an "Ignore" function. Unlike this modern "Mute" stuff, setting someone on "Ignore" would completely remove their posts from all threads that you view. No warning message or anything, just not shown at all. It would also not display any topic posted by that user.

With "Mute" you still see the topics created by the muted user pop up on "Active Topics" and "Your Posts" making this a useless function.

Can I request please that the mods review the list of stickied posts? I’m having to browse via my hated iphone a lot lately and in this sub-forum for example there’s a whole screen of pointless stickies (IMO). One mod in particular seems to think that their posts are fascinating 😅

Are there any bugs in editing and submitting posts on the forum where you get double posts? I'm thinking if you don't 'preview' the edit before posting, a new post happens rather than an edit? May need to test this and keep an eye out as I had a triple post when editing and submitting earlier. Cheers.

Is it just me or is it odd that there is an increase in first time users which leave an email address in their first comment/post/reply.
It feels, to me, like phishing attempts.

phew i'm not the only one....

Not by a long shot. I have a couple threads the float to the top of my "your posts" list that I would like to remove if possible. I have contemplated asking about doing this more than a few times. Glad someone has posted about this here.

Just wanted to mention that since yesterday I have been getting either blank screens or those "blue screen" errors when posting. The posts go through, but I have to go back and find the thread again after posting, and my own post is marked as Unread. It hasn't done this for me in a very long time, so if anything has changed or updated recently it may be to blame.

Also, can we please please please have a toggle to turn off the cursor overrides? I have a 240Hz monitor with great response times but at 1440p I can barely see the text cursor when my mouse is moving. It is just too faint and disappears into the background of text boxes. This is with the "old skool" colors scheme, just because I prefer that myself.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

This CSS turns off the custom cursor. Put the code in whatever user style manager extension you use.

@-moz-document domain("www.vogons.org") {
:root, .popup_button::before, .popup_button::after, form:invalid .button[type="submit"]:not([formnovalidate]), form.invalid .button[type="submit"]:not([formnovalidate]), .button:disabled, .button[data-disabled], form:invalid .push-button[type="submit"]:not([formnovalidate]), form.invalid .push-button[type="submit"]:not([formnovalidate]), .push-button:disabled, .push-button[data-disabled], form:invalid .menu-button[type="submit"]:not([formnovalidate]), form.invalid .menu-button[type="submit"]:not([formnovalidate]), .menu-button:disabled, .menu-button[data-disabled], label:disabled, select:disabled, [type="button"]:disabled, [type="checkbox"]:disabled, [type="file"]:disabled, [type="radio"]:disabled, [type="submit"]:disabled, label[data-disabled], textarea:disabled, [type="email"]:disabled, [type="input"]:disabled, [type="password"]:disabled, [type="search"]:disabled, [type="text"]:disabled, [type="url"]:disabled, [type="date"]:disabled {
cursor: unset;
}
}

I appreciate that, it just seems weird that we can't toggle it without third party browser extensions and tweaks. I don't think any other website I go to overrides my cursor and I don't understand why this one does. Especially when it is a relatively minor change for some but could be overriding essential accessibility settings for others.
