I'm trying to play High on Life (highly praised by a friend of mine, and is certainly a very fresh experience), in parallel with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (for DOS Game Club).

Finished High on Life (main campaign, and most collectibles). Took me just under half a year, because I was forgetting about it for weeks, and maybe even a couple of months at a time. And I never got any traction with the Fate of Atlantis.

I loved HIgh on Life. I played it on game pass and I was hooked in it. I even watched the entire almost 2 hour movie with commentary from red letter media in the theatre. I dont think ill go back to play the DLC but what a crazy good game it was

There's also "Tammy and the T-Rex" you can watch in your house. To be honest, I never had the patience to watch more than a couple of minutes of either. 😜

My daughter and I had been playing Divinity Original Sin 2 via split screen coop but it's just not a fun game we decided. Even early on we were having to refer to a walk-through to find hidden levers and understand what to do next. The quest log and map suck and there was so much happening on the screen sometimes that it it was impossible to see what was going on. Combat is also a slow, confusing mess.

So we've ditched that and switched to Outward. I've played this one a lot single player, but the split screen coop is one of its main selling points. The exploration, crafting, and survival stuff will work well for us in this one. The combat though is a bit challenging - she's used to fast paced button mashing combat like in Assassins Creed, and I have a terrible memory for combos and spells, etc. We got our butts kicked by some low level mobs last night but hopefully we can work it out - we'll need to learn to cooperate I suppose, not my strong suite generally speaking 😁

Finally played through GLQuake. With Hexen II soundtrack.
Originally I wanted to play Hexen II since I read something about a openGL version on the box by chance, which I never tried back then and wanted to do so now.
Still, the medieval setting doesn't apply too much to me and also the level design is kind of too confusing (which was the reason I neved played through the game in the past) so I ended up continuing GLQuake (with the Hexen II CD still in the drive).
I didn't notice at first but I found the Hexen II soundtrack gives Quake a much more mystical and somewhat relaxed atmosphere, so I left it in. For me it went very well together.

I play Quake with other game's soundtracks sometimes too - I'm not a fan of Quake's. Quake 2's goes quite well with it!

Yeah it's kinda peculiar how well it lines up if you use the audio tracks from Quake 2 in the same spots as they are on the Quake 2 disc.

I've been gaming for decades and never knew you could swap soundtracks by leaving another game's CD in the drive. Never even thought of trying that!

Quake is good with Frogger's disc because one song uses the same ambient drip noise so it fits. 😀

Maybe Quake2 had Methods of Destruction as a placeholder soundtrack during development before Sonic Mayhem did the Q2 tracks? </justaTheory>

Started playing Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

Collected all the keys in level 1; now I'm going crazy trying to find the 2nd key in level 2 🤕

Game for now is ok: graphically is really good, considering it's from 1997.
Gameplay is good, but I'm not liking the platforming sections and the confusing level design (low rendering distance doesn't help in this case).

Sometimes there are frame drops, but I think it's normal cause I'm maxing it at 640x480.

Playing it on my Pentium MMX 233 build, paired with a Voodoo 1.

Hey, it's running better than it's target platform ran it.

Good speakers, I got the U.S. Blaster version recently with a 120 Watt marking. Yours say even 240W hehe.

Fixed the ps/2 port for the mouse and just finished two levels in Forsaken. I like the humor.

Yeah, they're good. This build is paired with an SC-55 too, so with the speakers I get great MIDI playback 🙂

I'll definitely play Clear Sky after this one!

I just finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (2008), and I have to say that I enjoyed it as much as Shadow of Chernobyl (if not even more). I think it slightly lacked the gloomy and bleak atmosphere of the first one and felt more like a typical FPS, but I felt really cozy playing the game, and it was a lot of fun. There were no major annoyances, and the plot progressed smoothly. I installed the Sky Reclamation Project patch, so I have no experience with the vanilla version of the game. 9/10 points from me.

It has taken me four months to finish the first two S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. I think I'll try something different now and not jump right away into Call of Pripyat.

I played Clear Sky with the Faction Wars mod a number of years ago. I had an absolute blast playing it.

Doom > GZDoom > Brutal Doom.

Brutal Doom was recently updated (9/13/24) so had to mess with it. They've added so much, it's amazing!

Mechs, Doom with mechs...yes please! 😀

Nah, I'm waiting on the one with vehicles, aircraft, portal guns, mining and crafting.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

How about tanks, anti-aircraft, and attack choppers? 😜
