Still trying to get everything older off the asrockchina.com.cn ftp but it has been hit and miss (last good connect was 12/10, before that was 12/7 and 12/4). So far got 14128 File(s) 78,434,584,621 bytes in 59 Dir(s).
Am not grabbing the most newest (like soc1700) yet, aim is to get as much of the older as possible... one thing interesting is that most is dated 11/3/2017 like they moved/saved everything at that time.

Thanks for linking to my website! It is not just (mainly) focused on motherboards...OK, originally it was built around ABIT BIOS files back then (when the then spelled manufacturer "abit" announced to shut down their website)...it also focuses on 3dfx game patches, game patches, tools/utilities, video card tech demos, drivers and much more. Unfortunately I don't have the time to write more/new articles...

BTW I also have a classic "links" section.

There's a never ending project I started some time ago. I collect original file names (while finding old downloads and working on my website) and save them in a list which will be released in the future. The reason for this project is that file names are mostly unique but almost always impractical for my website, I name the .7z archives linked on my website that way it is very easy to recognize the content of them. The list of original file names will guide to the downloads users are searching for - I guess also others are searching for original file names using WWW search engines (f.e. if the files aren't available via the Wayback Machine).

also thanks soggi for your site i found some drivers and bios's there some years ago that really helped out, one was for an MSI PM8PM-V, also i had a similar board PM8PM which came from a medion pc with medion bios, i flashed it with the PM8PM-V bios and basically bricked it, thanks to your site i found it was actually a MSI PM8PM-IL and managed to get a working stock msi bios from your site, saving the board from the bin!

No problem. I have downloaded from that FTP since that post but it can be a bit hit and miss, depending on the day. Just checked today and works ok (Filezilla).

You're welcome! MSI and MSI OEM boards can be a tricky thing. I knew that many people have/had HP, Compaq, MEDION or other computer with MSI OEM boards inside - so I also knew that creating spec pages for the boards I own, or at least have all the information I need about, is something where others are interested in. You confirm that I was right. It's also information which is not easy to find and what you find is mostly confusing, so I felt I have the mission to make these things clear.

Wow ! I only grabbed early bios stuff (soc 462, 478, 754, 775 , 939, 115x, 1366, 2011, AM1, FM1-2+), it was 80GB just for those bios and took a long time.
Did get a bunch of the manuals too (but they are not sorted by socket like bios) and need to go back and finish getting the rest for those same bios. Will get on that now since you reminded me of the site 😁

Today I started with "462" and then will go up... Mostly I also start with the ealier and/or more important (to me) stuff - BIOSes and manuals are important and the earlier the more important and smaller file sizes.

Ohh that is a new one. Just connected ok but last time I downloaded anything big was 9/19 and just a few manuals a few days ago.
Ok resumed download of Am3 bios files, it timed out/disconnected me a few times but so far am still getting them....
hope I can get those manuals too but will wait until later.....

I had to change my IP...downloading manuals again.

Maybe the will close the FTP in some days... 😒

Got 11 GB until now...

Wow. Who bans someone over 11GB? I've downloaded over 500GB this past week mirroring some Linux repositories without any trouble.

Think they monitor connection time on that FTP, not total downloads. Since December 2023 have downloaded over 18,000 manuals + bios files for 82.6Gb, but I only do it for a few hours every weekend (if I remember to restart where I left off)...
So far think I have all the older stuff, except Am2 and AM3 stuff.....will grab those next.
For me the hard/time consuming part is moving the manuals into "socket" folders like the BIOS files are....

I also just download some hours a day with a rate of 80-100 kb/s. BTW the whole BIOS directory is 209 GB, this is so strange (because for all ever released versions you have DOS/Win/ROM, that's kind a stupid).

I wouldn't do that, I always keep the sources as original as possible (dates, structure, ...).

Haha...my FTP mirrors are also located on F:\ (in the directory "FTPs").

Yes the BIOS folder is huge, am not planning on getting all of. I have a locked IP (am on synchronous "FTTH" and they do not change the IP except in rare occasions) so would have to go thru a VPN if got banned.
My DL rate varies on ftp, sometimes 20-30KBs, some times 300KBs or higher (KBytes/sec), I am closer to China than you which might help 😀
All the manuals so far come from root of \manual so can easily be moved back there but I plan on upping some to archive org and by catagorizing the manuals like they did with bios, it will be easier.
If I had more time would do some archived web page saves for the bios fixes and cpu supports....
added: Yeah the BIOS area is huge. The soc 1151 is 40GB+ ....

After I saw it's that large and takes so long to download (some posts above), I also decided to first download the older stuff like you.

BTW I got disconnected for inactivity while "computing" the size of the whole FTP...so I don't know how large the whole FTP is. In comparison the whole FIC FTP has 12,7 GiB in size.

Yes it is fairly slow to DL from their FTP and huge. I saw you got 60KBs in one screen shot, that seems to be about overall average for me too 🙁
