Well, got myself another older system from the early 2000's! I have been looking for drive rails for my Chieftec Dragon case, but they are around $35CAD for just a pair, so instead of buying two pairs, I bought a whole case with a computer in it so I have extra drive rails! The only problem is the drive door. The hinge on the top is almost broken off, so I removed it so it doesn't get broken.

I bought an Antec Performance II series, SX1040BII - SOHO File Server case with the original box! About the only thing the case is missing is the feet. It has the original rear Antec 3-spd case fans, the original Antec 400 watt PSU (no bad caps, works good). It also came with hardware as well. It has an Asus A7V333 rev 1.04 board which only has the 200/266FSB, no raid, no firewire. An 80GB Maxtor HDD, CD-ROM, Sony CD-RW, Floppy drive, Athlon XP 2100+ Thoroughbred CPU, it came with 256MB DDR ram but I installed an extra 512MB, 10/100 network card, modem, and a Radeon 7200 64MB SDRam AGP video card.

Turned it on and it had Windows XP SP1 installed on it. I believe it to be the original install, but it is hard to say for sure. With the amount of dust in the front filter, I have a hard believing this thing only ran for around 39 days. According to the event log, it was created Nov 3rd, 2003 and it's last use was July 22, 2004 and then never booted again since then.

According to CrystalDiskInfo 9.2.3 it said the HDD had a power on count of 292 and power on hours of 954?hours. But if I go to HWinfo32 V8.00-5400, it has the same power cycle count but says it has run for 57,269 hours.

I did run 3DMark 3 times. Once with the original install and no ATI drivers, then under SP3 2014 edition, then under SP3 2014 and the ATI 6.11 driver. It looks like SP1 and no ATI driver gave better performance.

3DMark2000 -> SP1: Crashed
SP3: 4,681
SP3 and ATI driver: 4,685
3DMark2001 -> SP1: 3,137
SP3: 3,122
SP3 and ATI driver: 3,120
PCMark2002 -> SP1: CPU: 5,112, Mem: 3,045, HDD: 1,070
SP3: CPU: 5,061, Mem: 3,035, HDD: 1,103
SP3 and ATI driver: CPU: 5,063, Mem: 3,040, HDD: 1,076

Does anyone know how I could fix this so it doesn't break off? It's funny, almost all of these Antec cases have this problem, but my Chieftec case from the same time period doesn't have this issue at all and I have removed and reinstalled that door many times!
