Got a small haul of stuff at scrap price, kinda modern but some of it's 15 years old and not getting any younger. Didn't snap a pic since it didn't seem tooooo interesting. Two GPU, NVS 290, Asus HD4650 1Gb, PCIe, both low profile boards, so another couple to try in the Dell Apoplexy, I mean Optiplex, that is super picky. Do the Quadros implement PhysX? Because if it's not wanted in the dull, I might be sticking that NVS in things just for physx. (Tested previously with 9400GT PCI, 4x gain over CPU only)
CPUs, 3 of, i7-860 s1156, FX-8120, A6-6400. Pleased with those, don't look abused, realllly hoping the i7 works to swap out with the i3 in that box I got last week. FX-8120 and A6 I don't have seats for at the moment, though gonna check again since I thought I saw an AM3 FM2 board lot on offer. I wasn't wanting to get "into" FM2 and hafta find a CPU..buuuuut...
Desktop RAM: 8pcs 1GB DDR2, 1 pc 2GB DDR2... yeah bit disappointing, still still still low on 2GB DDR2 and I thought there was more of it in here. However, fast chips tight timing on one set of four 1GBs so maybe that might do something interesting for me.
SODIMM: 6pcs 2GB DDR3, 3pcs 1GB DDR2.... heh, why did I get this... though kinda wondering about putting some of the DDR2 chips on a desktop module, higher density.
All untested, but cosmetically good, all in about Bic Mac meal price for the lot, so I'll figure I got an okay deal if a couple of the 5 best things work. Actually if only the i7 works I'll consider that it payed off.
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
