WSH 5.6 used to be free from Microsoft, but they've removed it as it was for pre-XP machines. Now I can't find it anywhere, and I did a lot of googling.

Does anyone know where i can obtain it?

Hopefully this request doesn't break any rules.

Thank you. Looks like half their stuff gives a 404, but then clicking on the archive link gets me to the files.

According to wikipedia, 5.6 is the last version for 9x/NT, that's why I wanted it.

Oh man, didn't check the links...thought MDGx has it self-hosted, but these are Microsoft links from back then. Sorry! Where is the archive link? Or did you mean you got it via archive.org?

In this case I wouldn't trust Wikipedia. MDGx is the source to trust...he has long been active at MSFN and supported a lot of Win9x stuff.

When you get the 404 message, there's a bunch of links to try. One of them takes you to a list of files.

Sorry about that. Here's their 404 page -> https://www.mdgx.com/files/SCR569X.EXE

Then look down and you'll see some links. I chose "Files". Then look for the file you want. It does go to the wayback machine btw.

Hm didn't get to that 404 site before...I only saw the links to microsoft.com and Microsoft indeed doesn't have it (at least on the surface area). Thanks for clarifying this!
