Heyyyyyyyyyo,
I recently connected my Windows 98SE pc to the internet and quakeworld retrieves servers easily (albeit slowly). However I can only successfully connect to a few servers and only as a spectator with tons of weird jank and messages in the console about the "rate". Other servers show an error message or act like they're connecting but just repeat the message over and over again. I think I'm using the gl version of Quakeworld. I'm using a 3com 3c905-tx pci nic with an ethernet cable to our router. Please give me some advice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

i don't think many servers let the original client connect anymore. supposedly, quakeworld was left with some pretty severe security issues.

Are there any newer clients that support most games and still work on windows 98?
