This motherboard supposedly even supports Pentium4 series processors.
And what do you think about PC sets which I wrote about above?
The end of your nickname and know about Allegro indicates that you are from Poland. Are you from Poland like me?

I think nothing about them 😀 What I think is you should buy something, anything. A working computer to get a sense of what you dont like and want upgraded. Even something as funny as $3 https://allegro.pl/oferta/plyta-glowna-dell-o … tor-16459711749

Erm, why do you keep saying "people say this is good" or "is this good?"

Being "good" is both relative and very subjective. We -- or I -- can only tell you "under this-and-that circumstances, A would be better than B for a certain game or app" or "if I were you I'd choose A over B because it's cheaper / faster / more expandable / more reliable / etc."

I find these sets. Are these pc sets good, decent and worth their prices?

In this case I'd pick Asus P5QL/EPU as its much newer chipset (P43: June 2008 vs. 945G: May 2005) supports larger and faster RAM (4 x 4GB DDR2 1066 vs. 4 x 1GB DDR2 667) and newer 45nm CPU (and just about all the 65nm CPU in LGA775). ASRock ConRoe1333-DVI/H accept only a very small number of 45nm Wolfdale CPU but with a much more complete list of 90nm Prescott CPU. Unless you have a very specific motive to build a Prescott system I don't see a reason to use a slower, energy inefficient CPU family. Not to mention it's cheaper. 😉

That doesn't seem right. That model seems to be a P43 full ATX board, but that's not a bad thing...

I've had a P5QL-E since 2008, great motherboard overall, I'm not sure what the difference with the -EPU is but I'd be inclined to recommend that board.

And I think this is the best recommendation after all discussion with so many details and suggestion. I don't think OP will find the suitable computer config in one shot. There's always the relativity in the end and several reloops and updates are more than obvious

Agreed.

I've found nothing beats hands-on experience when it comes to figuring out what one wants. That means just picking a starting point and going from there.

I feel that OP might be stuck in a state of "analysis paralysis" where fear of making the wrong decision leads to making no decision.

The Dell board is not a standard form factor (notice the slots are on the opposite side of the rear I/O ports compared to ATX), it likely only fits the SFF case it comes in. Plus, SFF cases usually only accept low-profile cards, which limits the choice of dGPUs you can use.

In 2001 Celeron 1000 was $100, a year later ~$70, two years later it was somewhere between worthless and $20. You could have upgraded your computer with Pizza money instead of suffering 🙁

Interesting. My parents bought me my first PC in the late 2003 for $ 40, and it was 486 running at whooping 100 MHz. And I suffered for 1.5 years with it.
