Hello All:

I am running Dosbox CVS on Gentoo Linux with my desktop being KDE 3.5.9 but I cannot get the startmapper to start. I have disabled all of the control <F1-12> keys but nothing. I run dosbox -startmapper but nothing starts. I have toggled the fullscreen mode and usescancodes but nothing. My KDE keyboard layout is Evdev-managed keyboard. My dosbox.conf and xorg.conf files are displayed below..

Thanks,
Tony

Hmm.. -startmapper should always work. Have you tried with a DOSBox that someone else compiled?

I download the 64bit binary version from the Daum Cafe and used their dosbox.conf file and still nothing. The command I used was

dosbox -startmapper -conf dosbox.conf

The virtual keyboard never came up. I tried it in fullscreen and window mode.

Dosbox works great besides this issue.

Edit.... I installed the Fluxbox Window Manager and ran the same thing and startmapper didn't start.

Also I have an Nvidia card using Nvidia driver 169.12.

It turns out that the CVS version doesn't work for me. The non-cvs version works fine although I don't have the video card resolutions as the cvs version.

I looked at the code from a new cvs version and there is a switch for dosbox cvs. It is -startui but it doesn't call startmapper. I
can't find any code on startmapper in the cvs version. Was it omitted?

Thanks,
Tony

not on mine. I just downloaded it from dosbox.sourceforge.net. I have the following:

SDL
Dosbox
Render
Cpu
Mixer
Midi
Sblaster
Gus
Speaker
Joystick
Serial
Dos
Ipx
Autoexec
==============================
The Linux x64 binary from Daum's Cafe doesn't display it either but displays an 'Innova' along with the others I mentioned.

For me there's a keyboard entry (-> mapper), but anyways i neither like
the mapper being removed from the standard shortcut nor it being added
in a submenu. But well.
