And I complain when I see water in my condo entrance hall...

I hope he had insurance. That's a lot of work to do but at least it wasn't a 100% loss.

Mt sisters family lives in Tamp bay Florida and her daughter lives in North Carolina
They have been thru Both Helene and Milton now.
They are okay too but their houses suffered some damage too.

LGR live in an Old house with News Paper insulation and just inadequate for today’s climate.
It maybe a good thing to fix and modernize his house anyways.
I worked 20 years with American Veterans building houses all over California.
From when I was 16 years old. I would work construction after school and weekends and summer vacation.
I helped build over 4,000 buildings in 20 years. And that was just seasonal. Not working ever day.
We build Houses, Condos, Apartments, retirement centers, schools, hospitals, stores, etc….
We built allot of things.
We would build 5 houses a week
So it’s NOT hard to do.
LGR and his Friends could bang out repairs on his house a 3 weeks.
Better get to work and put his collection in storage because winter is coming.
More rain and storms too.

I would rip out all of LGR drywall, wood siding, doors, windows, etc
Take the house down to the wood framing.
let the wood dry and treat it, repair it.
Upgrade with Straps and bolts and hurricane clips, etc.
Upgrade the roof with Metal roofing.
Use moisture barriers, UV barriers, etc.
Work on the outside first before it starts raining and then work on the inside.
Use modern building systems and materials and work with building inspectors and building codes.

I don't know how expensive insurance must be around there, and around any areas frequently suffering these kinds of events, must be a lot and with lots of special terms & conditions applying

Maybe "Whistle While You Doomscroll", it's like "Whistle While You Work" with a chorus from Chopin's Funeral March.

Climate Change is Effecting Everyone.
From Retro computers to Retro fitting houses.
Better Start a NEW Channel

Winter is coming so better fix theses houses quick.
Add a fire place to dry out the house in the winter.
Get a portable blower heater.
