I've googled, I've read the manual, and the guide and I have a question.

I found this in the guide:

"* Again, like the modem support, there is no direct IPX networking support. As such, your DosBox session has no way of seeing your real IPX network, if you indeed have one."

Does this mean that I can't play a multiplayer between DosBox (on Ubuntu, Athlon XP1700+, 512MB) and real Dos (resurrected P2 300, 64mb, MS 6.22 from the attic, 2gig partition, genuine SB16 card, IPX, ODI and LSL loaded)?

I can't for the life of me get them to talk, but I don't have any other IPX computers with which to test the (probably OK) setup on the 6.22.

Cheers,

Nick.

That is true. The IPX you see in DOSBox is "fake". To the game running inside DOSBox it looks real, but out on the network, it is far from IPX, it is UDP/IP, and the real DOS PC will not be able to make heads nor tail of the network traffic.

Dagnammit.

Time to load a minimal distribution, then DosBox, then kick my wife's arse on Dungeon Keeper.

Thanks.

The Mega Build is like a DOS PC with NE2000 card. It can play with real DOS PCs if correctly configured.
