Got the card and here's the pics. Haven't tried it yet. Crossing fingers.
Is it a ti500 in your opinion?

Thanks for that. Looks my transistor has 100% been blown off . On the rear of the card, bottom right hand corner. Does the transistor Q200 have any labeling?

My eyes are old and tired but I am fairly sure nothing is written on it.

Arctic Cooling fans are not screamers, but still there are many small fan-s (not ideal). It should come with 500w (490w) psu (seasonic i think).

From both your thread and a few pics, it should be a 1P transistor, namely a PMBT2222A.

Fantastic, that’s what I figured. It should be arriving tomorrow. The fan will be running again hopefully.

There are people who were infants when 486 systems were being sold and they still buy one for retro gaming.

Generally anything high end gaming of its day will probably keep getting more expensive as time goes by because of demand and working supply. 3DFX will always command a premium because of GLIDE games.

I didn't know ATI Furry MAXX were $400 these days, I didn't bother with one when they were 1/10 that because they kinda sucked new.

They are higher now, they are rather rare and even more so in working condition, many of the ones you see on Evilbay are "not working or for parts" for a reason.

Many sellers from eBay, do not even test their parts and list them as "used" "working" "tested" Its actually quite annoying.. Its apparent within 5 seconds after plugging it in that they didn't test it. One of the dead giveaways is even before you plug them in, depending on how stiff the fan is with just a finger push, you know whether card will have a 75% of being dead or not.

Grrr...

Yeah sometimes the fan is so stuck it makes death noises for a good 10 minutes before the oxidation gets scraped away. At best they turn on the card and see if it posts, but thats also rare.

I had one of those, it served me well until one day the northbridge died of overheating... The winbond PCI to ISA bridge has some IRQ jitter and you may get scratchy or click filled audio in some games and some sound card combinations...
LIke mine, it needs all new capacitors, some already have bulged... The ones near CPU will all burst (Nichicon MH series IIRC).

What motherboard is that?

So it was indeed a Ti500. PHEW
It could run a full 3dmark 2001, but it might have some problems. The monitor kept adjusting between each 3dmark test. With both DVI and VGA.
Maybe I should try different drivers?

I'll probably never use it, but I can't help but think it's neat.

I remember trying to use an adapter like that when I upgraded to a newer motherboard, in an attempt to reuse my 30-pin SIMMs in a motherboard that required 72-pin SIMMs.

Unfortunately, it didn't work, so I had to get actual new SIMMs instead. I have no idea whether the adapter was defective, or just not compatible with some motherboards. 🤷🏽

I would definitely try a different driver, that is a really late XP driver. For perspective the 8000 series had just launched. That's a 5 generation spread from the GF3.
At most I'd use 71.89, but would probably be better served in the 56.xx's.

Wow GF 8 🤣! Yeah that quite a time difference. I just used Nvidia's pick-a-driver tool and thats the one it gave me. The driver situation is so annoying. This is not the first time I am getting horrible drivers recommended by the official sites. I need to make myself a chart mapping each card generation to a Nvidia driver number.
