I'm trying to out together a laptop for my young son to play some classic games and maybe learn a thing or two about old computing.
I had an Acer 1810T lying around and thought I'd give it a go. So far, it's gone surprisingly easy, MS-DOS 6.22 is working fine, Windows 3.11 works fine and the biggest issue I thought I would have, SB compatibility seems resolved with SBEmu.
SO I can play later games that use a SoundBlaster, but PC Speaker games is an issue, just no sound at all.
So my question is, on this era of notebooks (C2D) did the PC Speaker direct via the soundcard and I just need a mixer tool to enable a channel or something, or was there simply no PC speaker at all?
If the latter, is there any sort of TSR which emulates a PC Speaker and outputs via a soundblaster or something like that?
