That's your project? Wow! puts my designs to shame. you've got some EDA skills!
Also, referencing this topic. I made a device based off Eivind's TinyLlama and ITX llama smashed together but A. I have no intention to monetize or sell it and B. I spoke directly with Eivind about it and credited him on the board.
It's ok to use other people's designs since that's the beauty of open source but I agree that the 3 of these together look WAY too similar to the WeeCee, TinyLlama and ITX llama.
I'm all for mass producing these things so that less tech savvy people can get a hold of them and play with them but only with proper credit given to the original designed.

It is certainly the work of many more people. I am just one piece of it.
Crediting or not crediting other people's work just shows what kind of person you are. In today's world, with the internet, and tools like Google image search you can find out about anything. So, again, it all reflects back on who you are.

eh, ideas are cheap. The weecee was kind of a quick throwaway project, I was never gonna spend the time to get it up to production standards

Yeah it's nice to be credited but everyone already knows I designed the weecee. (Wouldn't complain about a review unit though 🤣)

With regards to your Pixel x86 project, maybe you can consider the wishlist that I gave Rastri and he dismissed.

Here is a short version of it:

Adding HIDman to support USB Keyboard and Mouse
Adding a CM4 to do the modem as well as munt and perhaps ethernet connection and Floppy/CD emulation.
Adding PicoGUS or even PicoGUS pro.

Please let us know.

I have a KiCad version of the WeeCee project that I made and I removed the PS/2 in favor of the HIDman. I think it would be cool to try to get a PicoGus and CM4 on there! it would be tricky but I'm sure it's feasable.

With regards to the CM4, you can always place it on the bottom side.

I grabbed the footprint off the TL3 for the CM4. Let me see if can cram it in some how 😉
Can we communicate with it over serial or does it require something like i2c?

@Rastri, credited or not, you are the Hero in this community as you started this whole thing and we are very thankful to you.

@snipe3687 I will say, let's have two serial ports and one USB. The USB port can provide the CD-ROM and Floppy emulation.
I suggest you follow @Eivind's design so we can reuse most the work he has done on TL3 for the WeeCee board.

I should say, nobody knows the names of the icop engineers who designed the modules. The weecee was massively inspired by icops own range of mini PCs. We all stand on the shoulders of giants.

I should also say, I understand if Eivind doesn't feel the same way as me re: the pixel stuff. He put way more work into his *llama projects than I ever put into the weecee.

Really the best solution would be if ICOP released their own consumer-level dos gaming PCs and put us all out of business 😀

That's true!

I'll weigh my words carefully - my main motivation with the llama line is and has always been to make cool boards for my own amusement, and of course it's both satisfying and humbling to see other people getting a kick out of them as well.
Having no idea what has led to inspiration to whom, I'll stay out of this discussion - and I'd kindly ask others to do the same, and let each project be weighed on its own merits. This particular thread is best served for conversations about the TinyLlama 3! 😉

Sometimes I wake up in panic during the night thinking this very same thing! 😁 /jk

maybe we could break this out into a different thread but I'm wondering if the ICOP SOM is a good fit for this addition or if I should try to redesign it with the DM&P.
Space is VERY limited since I can't stack components under the CM4. I'm going to test and see what if any components I would be able to fit under the ICOP SOM but I'm not holding out a ton of hope since things under there are pretty tight.
I'm going to play around with layout and see what can be done though. I will just make the assumption that everything can be moved.

Hey Eivind, I'm curious. I noticed on the TL3, specifically the HIDman circuit, the CH559 now has a 12Mhz crystal but on the previous interation it did not. what is the reason it's been added?

A lot of hubs were unstable without the crystal. Really it should have had one to start with (my fault!)

Ok that makes sense. I just didn’t know if the internal wasn’t suitable to being used with the RP2040 or something but it sounds like moving forward, I should be using a crystal with my builds correct?

Yeah if you want maximum compatibility you'll need a crystal. Discussion in the main hidman thread : HIDman - USB to PS/2 converter (Open Source)

ohh yeah I thought that sounded familiar when you said it. I was following that thread for a while. thank you! I will update all my existing projects to reflect this change 😀

I've got a prototype in production right now. fingers crossed! I'm. very happy with how it laid out with everything on it. it looks really nice and I'm feeling good it will fit in the case Rasteri used originally. the only thing I will have left to do if this indeed works properly is re-design the front and rear panels for the case to reflect the new port layout. Will keep you posted.

Looks really awesome. Perhaps we need to reserve a hole on one of the panels to have the wifi antenna for the RPi mounted.

That’s a good idea! Probably a good idea since it will be in an aluminum case. My thought was to also include that tiny 0.91” screen for MT32PI on the front where the SD card slots are. That’s why I put the i2c port there. There’s more room to add things so if you think of anything else let me know!

I love it. MT32's LCD will make a huge difference.

how did you build the voodoo card? obviously, you can't purchase the VSA-100 chips new anymore and I don't know many people who are doing BGA soldering at home. how would I go about getting it done as I can't really use the TL3 without it 😉

I bought a couple from a source someone linked here (I can't remember the site now), but you're right. I'm definitely not looking forward to balling it. I hope there's may another alternative! Maybe if we get the Gerber files, I can send it over to JLCPCB or something and have them do it when they produce the board? No clue yet.
