Bringing back this topic: Does anybody have a full dump of a Batman's revenge board please? My board is unhappy, the recovery procedure starts but doesn't read the floppy (it seeks all the time) and I have a feeling I don't have the right/a correct BIOS.

If someone was so kind to try and extract a copy from a working machine, it would be amazing. Online there are only update files which are used by intel's utility to upgrade.

Thanks!

Hi.
I really doubt that that is a matter of 'wrong' BIOS...
Recovery works even with blank flashrom.

In a couple of weeks I'll have such board 'for parts'.
I can desolder and read contents of flash for you.

Maybe this - https://boardrivers.fandom.com/ru/wiki/Intel_ … /_AA_624415-230 - seems to be v1.00.12.AF2

With a blank flashrom? Are you sure, I understand the recovery is saved on the ROM, in a section which never gets flashed. My recovery doesn't work with some BIOS images. I have found an issue though, the clock IC is not outputting the correct frequencies - only the CPU one is good. So clearly that would mess up everything else!

Thanks, I think I have a BIOS which "should work" but another one won't hurt for sure! 😀

Hi there.
This part of the flash is 'protected', very unlikely it got damaged.
Just let me know if you need one - I managed to overwrite custom BIOS with generic one without desoldering the chip.

Very nice board. It's on my wish list to own one day.

I took a Pentium 66 to a LAN party in 1994. The guys there had DX4-66's and DX4-100's. They were absolutely disgusted I had a Pentium. Almost got kicked out of the house 🤣.
