After my failed attempt at making a Gundam TC for Quake 3 (I had no project management skills back then) I then tried to make some maps based off the Transformers movie. They never got completed besides base designs. I seem to recall that none of the map editors were that great and always ran into issues with vertex gaps that were impossible to find. I eventually gave up.

I've messed around with many different editors: GTKRadiant, for idTech games based off Q2/Q3, Final Alert 2, UnrealEd 2.0/2.1, and 3.0, DoomBuilder/GZDoomBuilder/UDB, WorldEdit/Hammer for Valve games, and others.

Never really finished any of them.

I made a mission or two for Descent: Freespace back in the day, and at one point I was even a (not very productive) mission reviewer for Freespace Watch's user mission archive. The missions I made were perfectly adequate, but not terribly interesting to play compared to some of the more creative user-made stuff out there!

I only spent hours in Drakan: Order of the Flame's Level Editor, fixing visibility data in stock levels after hacking the game to support double draw distance. Should be done fully automatically, but the tool isn't very smart, so from certain sections of the levels, other sections that are impossible to see would be marked as visible (slowing down rendering invisible geometry) while others that should be possible to see were marked as invisible (gaps, blank / empty spots in levels). Very boring and mundane.

I don't have the imagination and other prerequisites for making my own maps.
