Finally received my Compaq Prolinea 4/50... Very clean and soldered battery has been replaced by a battery pack. Heck, it even recognized my 4GB CF at first try...
I tried installing an Audician 32 plus (clone) on the riser on any of the 3 ISA slots and the card would be detected... But in SETUPSA I would not hear a sound. So, tried my SB16... DIAGNOSE found the ports, IRQs, but could not find any available low DMA available. So, I disabled all serial and parallel ports just to be sure... The problem remained.
I launched the COMPAQ diagnostic disk and everything came out working properly (except sound, of course). So I decided to pull out the riser card for inspection... Visually, it's in perfect condition. But after testing all (super tiny yellow) capacitors for continuity (directly on PCB) I found 4 caps without any continuity: C106, C107, C120 and C121.
Is this a proper diagnostic and just replacing those caps should do the trick? If so, how do I know what are the specs for these caps?
