I have a problem with the mouse in some DOS games. Horizontally the mouse pointer moves normally, but vertically it is as if the mouse pointer keeps snapping into place on a rough grid. The mouse pointer does not move vertically evenly but always jumps a few millimeters further. The whole thing has the drawback that you can't click on some things in these games because the mouse arrow is either above or below them. A game in which the problem occurs, for example, is Might and Magic III.

I remember having this problem with a game back then... That was Amberstar.

A little more information about my computer... It's a real 486 DOS computer, not a DOSBox or something like that, and I use the Logitech mouse driver V8.0.

have not tested logitech 8.0, but from my testing i'd recommend mouse.com 8.20 or logitech 6.50. logitech 7.30 showed severe stuttering in actual gameplay on a pentium 90.

for a newer solution there are also various versions of cutemouse.
