Hi, I am trying to find a Necroware replacement for a socketed Dallas DS12887A. There are two models currently out, nw12887 and nwx287. What's the difference between them? Guide says SO-24 and SSOP-24 but there is no such information on the chip and not googlable either...

SO/SSOP-24 refer the package size of the clock IC used on (the underside of) the adapter pcb - meaning you don't need to care unless you want to build your own.
