I used dosbox and did everything properly, yet everytime i try to play it, it keeps saying that it is a windows NT game, and it doesnt play it
You can't use Dosbox on a windows game. Dosbox is a dos emulator. Try running it in windows and use compatibility with it.

To Run Mortal Kombat Trilogy on windows xp you Need A patch for windows XP However, it makes it Sloppy Somehow and JOYPAD needs some 3RD party programs to play with , i Would Highly Recommend to run it under DOSBox 0.72 Since MKT is Dos Game Primarily OR you can have it under Windows 95 through Virtual PC
There should be dos files for mktrilogy as well, read the instructions
supplied with the game/installer.
But it might not work in the last dosbox release, so you're better off
with the windows version.
