Hello,

Can anybody tell me if the ASUS P5A Rev 1.03 is compatible with the K6-2 550 AFX? Thank you!

I think it is.
It has the multiplicator setting, it has the voltage. It supports K6-2.
And I don't think the BIOS will make a problem.

It does not have the 97 MHz clock frequency, so processors like the K6-2 533 need to be clocked at either 525 or 550 MHz, but that does not apply to your 550 MHz rated chip.

According to the manual it seems not compatible.

Manuals are rarely a good indication of actual compatibility as they only list CPUs older than the board, whereas support for newer CPUs almost invariably gets added via BIOS.

For the P5A it's pretty simple: up to rev 1.04, all So7 CPUs will work on it with the latest BIOS, including K6plus CPUs. Due to a hardware bug, K6plus won't work well on versions 1.05 and 1.06 without hardware modification, but all other So7 CPUs will.

This K6-2 is just a regular Chomper Extended and will work fine at pretty much any speed you choose to clock it at. But defaut is 5.5x multiplier, 100MHz FSB and 2.2V split voltage.

The voltage 😬 of the VCORE can be found on the CPU, normally it is 2.3V for the K6-2 550, so slightly higher than 🫡 at K6 up to 533 MHz (2.2V).
But you can still try to make it work at 2.2V, if you have any problems, I suggest you select 2.3V, in the manual it should be written how to do it.
