When I run the MS-DOS port of Mortal Kombat 1 on my retro PC which has an NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64 graphics card the image is very dark during the first 3 matches, in the fourth and fifth match the image is displayed correctly but in the sixth match it is dark again.

I noticed this behavior in other games as well, such as Aladdin, but only on some transition screens.

Could anyone suggest me some workaround or solution for this?

Back in the days when i played Counter Strike in a computer club it helped to turn the gamma to the max, but I would throw this card away

Can you do that for a MS-DOS game? Is there a tool?

I don't think it's possible, such TSR/program to increase gamma in DOS just not exist.

Doom is what you want (c) MAZter
